Black Sheep gets set to cause a scrum in stores

Black Sheep Brewery has launched a bottled version of its rugby-themed beer.

Ram Tackle, the North Yorkshire-brewery’s first seasonal ale of 2017, has now been rolled out to the off-trade, following a successful debut in pubs earlier this month.

The 4.1% abv ruby ale contains eight different English hops, and it has been made available for the off-trade for the remaining fixtures of the Six Nations tournament.

The beer follows the success of Black Sheep’s previous rugby-inspired brewes, including Blind Side and Ruckin’ Disaster, which were launched ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Jo Theakston, sales and marketing director at Black Sheep Brewery, said: “Ram Tackle has already caused quite a few scrums at the bar this year and I am delighted that we are now able to offer it as a bottled beer. The Six Nations is shaping up to be another exciting tournament, so its launch to supermarkets is quite timely and will allow diehard sports fans the opportunity to take in the games in the comfort of the home, while enjoying our rugby-inspired brew.

“It’s great to be joining in the celebrations of a bumper year of sport and rugby, and Ram Tackle will be a fine addition to supermarket shelves, as well as the Black Sheep bottled flock.”
