Willow & Stone was created in response to research from Kingsland’s research tool, WinePRO, which indicated a clear need for an “affordable, fresh tasting wine for spontaneous occasions”.
Jo Taylorson, marketing controller, Kingsland Drinks, said: “We know from our research that the beginners, or millennials, are looking for wines that will suit multiple usage occasions; at home, dinner with friends or as a gift. Willow & Stone answers that need. We were also able to create a premium tasting fizz using our carbonation line which responds to the increased thirst for sparkling products.”
The company unveiled its carbonation line last year, alongside the launch of two sparkling versions of its Shorn wine brand. The line can fill up to 15,000 bottles an hour, and the
Neil Anderson, marketing director at Kingsland, said: “We had the foresight a while ago to develop our own carbonation line and sparkling is now a huge category. There has to be alternatives to Prosecco, and the quality of these sparkling options, when compared with similar drinks, is exceptional.”
The drinks have a recommended retail price of £3.39 for the still and £3.99 for the sparkling variants.
