The fast growing wine brand said it has “proven success” for both its Pinot Grigio and rosé varietals. Last year sales were up for Barefoot’s Pinot Grigio (+28%), Pink Moscato (+35%) and Bubbly Pink Moscato (+15%), according to Nielsen data (year to 13/08/16).
The new Barefoot Pink Pinot Grigio (11% abv) has a crisp and fruity style, full of tart apple, peach and raspberry flavours. The producer said it is a drier styled rosé but with the fruit forward flavour that is consistent with the Barefoot brand.
Olga Senkina, marketing director, said: “The fun and quirky nature of our brand makes it approachable to consumers and has been a key contributor to our continued growth across our portfolio. On the back of our success we are delighted to have established ourselves as a must stock range for retailers and we are certain that younger consumers will find Barefoot Pink Pinot Grigio as flavourful as it is affordable.”
The newcomer (rsp: £6.99) joins recent new additions to the UK portfolio, including Barefoot’s Californian Malbec and Barefoot Chardonnay.
