The Guildford Wine Company prepares to celebrate 10th anniversary

29 June, 2016

The Guildford Wine Company will open some “cracking” wines alongside big discounts as part of the celebrations for its 10-year anniversary this weekend.

Proprietor Ben Watkins said: “I have selected ten of our most popular wines and will offer an extra 10% discount on them this weekend only. We already offer 10% discount off two bottles of sparkling wine and 20% of if you buy six.

“Therefore, this weekend we are offering 20% off two bottles and a massive 30% off six bottles on the following two favourites: Moutard Grande Cuvee Champagne (£29.99 each, two for £23.99 each, or six for £20.99 each) and Prosecco Gocce di Favola (£11.99 each, two for £9.59 each or six for £8.39 each).”

Similarly, the shop, which is based in the Shalford area of Guildford, will be offering discounts on white and red wines. Watkins explained that the shop’s standard discount is 10% off a mixed case, but for this weekend it will offer 10% off per bottle and 20% off as part of a mixed dozen on the following wines:

Bottega Vinai Trentino Pinot Grigio - £9.99 (down to £8.99/ £7.99 case price)

Boutinot Cotes du Rhone Rouge - £9.99 (down to £8.99/ £7.99 case price)

Chateau La Tuilerie du Puy Bordeaux – £11.99 (down to £10.79/ £9.59 case price)

La Flor Malbec – £11.99 (down to £13.49/ £11.99 case price)

Watkins said: “In addition to the above, we are also going to offer a 20% case discount on Hogs Back TEA and 10% off a bottle of Silent Pool Gin.

The offers will be available on Friday 24 and Saturday 25th June only, as long as stocks last.

“In order to really hammer home the 10-year theme, I have found ten wines from 2006 to open. These include Bordeaux, Barolo, Californian Pinot, Chilean Carmenere, White Rioja and Champagne.

“And as if this wasn’t quite enough for one weekend, every purchase made on Friday and Saturday will enter you into a free prize draw to win a double magnum of Chateau Caronne St Gemme 2006 worth £110.”
