Cargo is part of the Wapping Wharf retail and residential development on the city’s harbourside and will provide a base for 10 independent businesses with the focus on food and drink.
The cider shop will cease trading at its current home at Christmas Steps in the city centre, on July 2 with a party to “drink the shop dry”. It will reopen at Cargo a week later.
Peter Snowman, who founded the business with Nick Davis five years ago, said the move would allow it to step up events.
“We’re really excited and ad at the same time,” said Snowman. “Our tastings have really taken off and the shop is tiny, so we can only take a few people in at a time.
“Cargo will give us a much better space for events – and it will be great to be part of what’s shaping up to be an awesome food and drink scene there. At the same time we’re gutted to be leaving Christmas Steps.”
A manager is being sought to run the new shop from its opening. To celebrate the move, the business is planning its own cider brand, with a label by local artist Simon Tozer.
