Ego, which is served in a 750ml sharing bottle, is described as being ‘big in size and big on flavour’. This is the first time the brewery has brought out a beer in a larger sharing format.
The brewery has been maturing Ego over the winter to deliver a full-flavoured Saison ready for the summer months.
The beer is well-balanced and will flavours of orange marmalade, banana and clove with hints of lime and coconut to finish, according to the company. True to the Saison style of beer, it is unfiltered, unpasteurised and naturally carbonated.
Beerd brewer Joe Clayton, said: “We are incredibly excited to unveil our new Saison. With Ego we wanted to create a robust, fruity ale to give beer drinkers a refreshing option for the warmer months. We’ve married together hard-hitting, tropical flavours and matured the brew over the winter to create an even fuller flavour. To coin another brewer’s popular slogan, all good things come to those who wait – which couldn’t be more fitting for Ego.
“Summer is a sociable time of year when many people get together to eat, drink and enjoy the sunshine. Presenting Ego in a 750ml bottle will appeal to those looking for a great tasting beer to enjoy at social occasions and share with friends.”
The limited-edition Ego (rrp £9.95) will be available to consumers from 30 May.
