Berry Bros brings UK spirits distribution in-house

03 May, 2016

Berry Bros & Rudd will be bring the distribution of its premium spirits portfolio in-house from 1 July 2016.

The activity will conclude arrangements which have been in place with Maxxium UK since 2006 and with Mangrove since 2014.

The company’s spirits portfolio which includes single malt The Glenrothes and No.3 London Dry Gin, enjoyed significant growth during its decade-long relationship with Maxxium UK.

Mangrove, meanwhile, has been instrumental in introducing The King’s Ginger liqueur and Pink Pigeon spiced rum to new audiences in the UK, primarily in the on-trade.

By bringing distribution in-house Berry Bros & Rudd anticipates it can further develop its own range of spirits both nationally and within London through existing trade relationships and new customers.

Dan Jago, ceo of Berry Bros & Rudd, commented: “The relationships with both Maxium and Mangrove have been excellent, providing a strong platform for our spirits brands, and for this we are grateful. The time is now right, however, for us to build our own on and off-trade UK distribution capabilities in spirits as well as wine as part of our long-term plans.”
