The “innovative and unique” Cava blend is designed to be enjoyed over ice, and the producer said it is also perfect for summer cocktails.
Freixenet Ice Cava is a premium Cava created using the ‘Method Traditional’ and made with a premium grape blend to create a bespoke drink. The blend uses Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Parellada grape varieties, with a touch of Chardonnay. The drink, which has been ageing under the cellars of Freixenet for 12 to 14 months, is described as being “creamy yet sweet and with a long finish”.
A spokesman for the company said: “Freixenet Ice Cava caters to all palates, especially when garnished with mint leaves or a twist of lime for an impromptu summer gathering, or taken as a gift for a fun, outdoor occasion. It can even be used to create unique cocktails, such as the ‘Perfect Serve Ginger’, combining Peach Liqueur, strips of ginger and a slice of grapefruit with the Ice Cava for an attractive and elegant refreshing summer mix”.
The launch is part of a wider marketing campaign for the brand, which includes digital, experiential, instore and print advertising. The Ice Cava will be launched exclusively at The Crystal Maze venue, in time for the summer.
