Bibendum PLB has has been appointed to distribute wines from Rhone Valley-based Cellier des Princes in all UK trade channels.

Multiple off-trade sales will be through PLB, with independents supplied by the group’s Walker & Wodehouse division. Bibendum will handle on-trade sales.

Cellier des Princes is the only co-operative in the Chateauneuf du Pape region and has 189 growers with 580 acres of vineyards there and elsewhere in southern Rhone.

The range includes Chateauneuf du Pape, Vaucluse, Cote du Rhone, Cote du Rhone Villages, Vacqueyras and Gigondas wines.

The co-operative’s general manager Pierre Cohen said: “It is our aim to work with the leading distributors in each of our key markets to develop the business.”

Alastair Pyatt, Bibendum PLB France buyer, added: “On top of a fantastic quality versus value proposition, Cellier des Princes has the diversity, flexibility and scale which makes it a perfect fit for Bibendum PLB’s requirements for the on and off-trade, and a significant addition to our French range.”
