The new variant is Pear & Elderflower, which will join the Pink Grapefruit flavour launched last year. The drinks, which are gently spritzed, have an alcohol content of 5.5% abv.
The drinks are designed to appeal to millenials – the consumer group dominated by young adults in the 20s – by tapping into the popularity of wine-based drinks and also drinks containing a lower alcohol content.
At the Fair, Free Run Wines will also be launching a new brand Le Village Anglais, which it said is a nod towards the many British ex-pats who have settled in the South West of France. The wines are sourced through Free Run’s partners, Le Vignerons de Buzet, who will also be launching its Sans Sulfites trio (white, red and rose) at the Fair.
“Consumers are increasingly demanding lower levels of sulphites in their wines and Le Vignerons de Buzet is leading the way in responding to this demand,” said Free Run Wines.
An Organic Grand Reservr Champagne from the Grand Cru specialist Champagne Cuperly will also be on show.
“Organic Champagne has seen huge growth in Scandinavian markets, and we feel that there is a gap in the UK market or more organic wines,” said Free Run.
Also new for the UK market is the Mt Monster brand from its Australian partners Morambro Creek in Padthaway, South Australia.
