North South Wines to distribute Berberana and Monistrol brands

21 March, 2016

Independent wine supplier United Wineries has announced a UK & Ireland agency deal with distributor, North South Wines.

The distribution agreement, which will commence on 1 April, will name New South Wines as the sole agent for Berberana and Monistrol branded range of still and sparkling Spanish wines for all channels in the UK and Ireland. This follows a successful year for North South Wines which commended distribution of both brands on behalf of United Wineries into the UK Impulse and Cash & Carry channels.

Elena Reveriego, newly appointed CEO of United Wineries, said: “The UK remains an important market for United Wineries, as consumer’s demand for every day, affordable, good quality Spanish wines is continuing to grow. We are delighted to have signed this agreement with North South Wines for our well-known wine brands and we are excited about the future. We are confident that the North South Wines team can build on the success they have already seen with our brands and replicate this across all channels in the UK and Ireland.”

Kim Wilson, Commercial Director of North South Wines, added: “In just two years of trading, we have managed to achieve an excellent track record of building brands with consumer appeal and a focus on quality in the sectors we specialise in.

“We are thrilled to bring Berberana and Monistrol into the portfolio and represent the brands in the UK and Ireland. We have enjoyed working with the team at United Wineries over the last 18 months and have delivered success in the Impulse channel, which we look forward to repeating online and in the multiples with the brands now fully under our umbrella.”
