Tesco trials pre-mixed Finest wine cases

18 March, 2016

Tesco plans to trial a pre-mixed case of wines from its Finest range in 280 stores, following the success of these wines over Christmas.

The Tesco wine team has put together a case of South African wines to encourage customers to explore within the Finest range. The four-bottle case contains Finest Stellenbosch Sauvignon Blanc 2015 (rrp £5.50), Finest South African Chenin Blanc 2015 (rrp £5.50), Finest South African Malbec 2015 (rrp £5.50) and Finest South African Shiraz 2015 (rrp £5.50).

The Finest South African selection will cost £16.50, which gives shoppers a saving of £5.50.

The supermarket’s wine buying manager for South Africa, Dawn Webster-Smith, said: “To help customers explore the delights of South African wine at terrific prices, we have put together this great selection of Finest wines. The smaller mixed case offers shoppers outstanding value and more importantly a cross section of the range that really showcases some of the fantastic wines coming from South Africa at the moment.

“We are lucky to be working with renowned wine makers: Adi Badenhorst and Hermias Hugo, both dedicated to providing our customers with outstanding quality Finest wines at a great price.”

The selection will be available in 280 stores from 23 March.

Tesco said its overall BWS sales increased by 2.4% in value and 3.7% in volume over the Christmas period 2015 compared to the same period in 2014.
