Champagne Lanson eyeing up Valentine's Day sales spike

A rosé from Champagne Lanson’s portfolio has been hailed as the UK’s best-selling Rose Champagne, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Champagne Lanson Rosé Label Brut Rosé NV is the leading rosé Champagne in both volume and value terms, according to the latest Nielsen data (52 w/e 2 January 2016).

The total Champagne category is in growth at 4.3% year-on-year in value and 4.9% in volume terms, but within this rosé Champagne is up 9.6% in value and 9.8% in volume, according to Nielsen.

In comparison, Champagne Lanson rosé is up by 12% in value and 13% in volume.  The Champagne, which has been created since 1760, is a blend of 32% Chardonnay, 53% Pinot Noir and 15% Pinot Meunier.
