Martell launches limited edition pack with DJ

13 January, 2016

Martell Cognac has linked up with French DJ and dance music producer Étienne de Crécy for a limited edition pack.

The pack is named French Touch by Martell, in recognition of the cultural movement of which de Crécy is a member.

The blue packaging glows under ultra-violet light.

Vicky Hoey, head of marketing for dark spirits at supplier Pernod Ricard UK, said: “Martell and the French Touch artists share a passion for excellence, quality and a desire to share the spirit of art de vivre enjoyed in France for hundreds of years.”

It is the first in a series of limited edition bottles aimed at introducing Martell to a younger audience.

The limited edition will roll out in the off-trade from February 10 with listings in Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Amazon and Amathus.

The rrp is £26.25.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
