Spirit Cartel launches ultra-premium tequila brand in the UK

30 November, 2015

Spirit Cartel is bringing ultra-premium tequila range, Clase Azul, to the UK.

Produced in Los Altos in Jalisco province, Tequila Clase Azul comes in four expressions: Plata, Reposado, Añejo and Ultra Extra Añejo.

Charles Marshall, consiglieri at Spirit Cartel, said: “Clase Azul is more than just tequila—it’s a religion.

“This range sits in a class of its own, based purely on quality and pedigree and steeped in ancient Mexican tradition. It has a clear point of difference.

“With its breathtakingly beautiful bottles, Clase Azul gives retailers and operators the opportunity to take tequila connoisseurs on a unique experiential journey.”

The Tequila Clase Azul Ultra Extra Añejo has been aged for five years in small sherry casks and is produced in numbered batches of 100 bottles.

It is presented in a decanter decorated with hand-painted liquid platinum, with a 24-carat gold label and the Clase Azul agave medallion in sterling silver.

It retails at  £2,399.

The other expressions in the range are Azul Añejo, which has been aged for 25 months and retails at £599; the Azul Reposado, aged for eight months, which has an RRP of £132.99; and the entry-level Plata, priced at £94.99.

Also released at the same time is La Pinta, which is a blend of pomegranate juice and Tequila Clase Azul Plata. It retails at £59.

The range has a standard abv of 40%.
