Meantime Brewery makes time for Brompton Bicycle partnership

Greenwich-based Meantime Brewery is partnering with iconic fold-up bike manufacturer Brompton Bicycle as the first stage of a new campaign.

The campaign, called ‘Make Time for It’, will run for 12 months.

It is designed to highlight the time and attention that Meantime puts into maturing its beers.

Meantime’s brewery will visit Brompton’s Kew factory before creating a bespoke beer that reflects the bicycle maker’s brand.

In return. Brompton’s team will have six weeks to design and build a city bike that captures the spirit of Meantime.

The finished products will be revealed at an event in the Brompton Junction store in Covent Garden on December 3.

The beer will be available for sale at the brewery’s on-site retail outlet. Customers will be able to enter a draw to win a Brompton-Meantime bike.

Rich Myers, marketing director of Meantime Brewing Company, said: “From day one, time has been at the heart of Meantime – we’re based in Greenwich, the universal home of time, it’s in our name, but most importantly it’s in our beer. We’re bringing ‘Make Time for It’ to life through partnerships with other brands who share our values and take pride in their British crafted products.

 “Brompton Bikes are an iconic London brand and their passion for their craft is akin to our own. Challenging them to create a bespoke Brompton-Meantime Bike in the same time it takes us to brew a Brompton beer gives us a chance to celebrate all things craft and champion one of our core beliefs that time is as important as any other ingredient we use.”

Will Butler Adams, chief executive of Brompton Bicycle said: “The Brompton is proudly made in London and takes tremendous skill from our master brazers to produce, all of whom have completed a three-year apprenticeship.

“Quality products take time, time well invested to produce a delightful product. We are looking forward to learning a thing or two about brewing and working closely with Meantime’s team of brewers to create a truly unique brew. We can’t wait to drink it.”
