Wines will be sold by the case from early next year, spearheading the launch of a wider e-commerce operation that aims to draw thousands more UK customers to the German-owned retail chain.
UK wine buying director Mike James said: “We are very proud of our wine range, and while we always strive to deliver every day great value to our customers, we will never compromise on quality to achieve a price point and I believe it’s this that continues to set us apart.
“The launch of our e-commerce operation forms part of our long-term growth and investment strategy. Selected wines will be sold online by the case from early 2016, followed by non-food special buys in the spring.
“Customers nationwide will be offered both home delivery and access to a convenient collections and returns service.”
