Paul Schaafsma named Accolade's new chief executive

28 September, 2015

Accolade Wines UK general manager Paul Schaafsma has been named the company’s new chief executive.

Schaafsma takes over from John Ratcliffe, who will become deputy chairman and will continue to advise on the company’s executive development.

Schaafsma’s role will cover all Accolade’s markets, from bases in the UK and Australia.

Under his leadership the company has grown its UK market share by more than 70% and Hardys has grown its market share by 16%, the company said.

Schaafsma has headed Accolade’s UK division for three years, and before that was the UK boss of McGuigan owner Australian Vintage.
