Management buyout for the Wine Reserve

14 August, 2015

Award-winning Surrey independent The Wine Reserve has been bought out by its store management team.

Tim Walker and Carol Edwards have bought out founder Marco Attard, who retains ownership of his other venture in France, Calais Wine Superstore.

Walker has been with the business for five years and Edwards for two. The pair will retain the name but plan tweaks to the look and improvements to the online side of the business.

They also aim to have more informal tastings and in-store events.

Around 40 new products have been added to the range. Edwards said Attard had given them first refusal after opting to sell up.

“We want to build on what Marco has already achieved,” she said.

“The shop has a brilliant community feel and we have got to know our regular customers well and are consistently welcoming new customers to the store.”
