Meantime launches competition to send beer fans to Yakima Valley

29 July, 2015

Meantime is offering drinkers the chance to win a trip to the Yakima Valley in Washington State in an on-pack promotion.

The brewer calls it the “prime hop-growing region in the world” and has a core line called Yakima Red.

The promotion will run through August and will offer three winners the chance to join Meantime founder and brewmaster Alastair Hook on his annual hop-sourcing trip to the US, via some of the Seattle’s best craft beer bars and breweries.

The promotion will run across 300,000 bottles of Meantime’s London lager and London pale ale, and it has a host of runner-up prizes.

Rich Myers, marketing director at Meantime, said: “The Yakima Valley is one of the most celebrated hop growing regions in the world, inspiring the name of our own Yakima Red ale, which contains five varieties of hops from the area. Since Meantime was set up back in 2000, we’ve always been committed to brewing with only the finest quality ingredients.

“Our founder and Brewmaster Alastair travels the globe to source the finest hops, and we are delighted to offer four of our fans the chance to come along for the ride.

“This is an incredible opportunity for craft beer aficionados to spend time with one of the true pioneers of the craft beer movement in the UK – all whilst sampling some of the finest hops in the world that will eventually go into making our award-winning beers.”
