Bibendum PLB raises £75,000 for war heroes

26 May, 2015

Bibendum PLB has raised more than £75,000 for military charity Help for Heroes by donating £1 in every bottle sold of its Wines for Heroes range.

The wines are made by South African producer Spier, and the range includes a Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz that both retail for £7.99.

It said Tesco and Amazon have been major customers driving sales, along Mitchells & Butler in the on-trade.

Bibendum PLB chief executive Michael Saunders said: “Help for Heroes is a fantastic charity that does great work for our servicemen and women and we are thrilled that we have been able to raise money to aid their continued support of our wounded and their families.

“Working with the Help for Heroes charity has been a delight.  We are currently looking at how we can further support our customers with their sales of our Wine for Heroes range – £75,000 is a great donation, but we have no intention of stopping there.”

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines.
