Virgin Wines has reported a 20% increase in like-for-like sales in December with Champagne and Prosecco among the biggest boosts to business.

Prosecco sales rose by 170% and Champagne was up 60%, while the online retailer recorded strong sales by a new Gifts by Virgin Wines service, which sold 5,000 units.
