Pernod Ricard's Chris Ellis becomes group commercial director

Pernod Ricard UKís wine boss Chris Ellis has been promoted to a role that also encompasses the groupís spirits portfolio.

As commercial director for wine Ellis has built up the French drinks giantís brands such as Campo Viejo and Brancott Estate by pushing them into premium tiers.

His new role as commercial director for the entire Pernod Ricard UK portfolio will see him take on such brands as Jameson, Malibu and Absolut.

Denis OíFlynn, managing director at Pernod Ricard UK, said: ďChrisís expanded role reflects his contribution to the commercial team in wines and spirits over the past 10 years. I wish him every success in his new position.Ē

What makes wine special

Reaching the 50th instalment of Hemmingís Way is hardly the biggest milestone, but I donít need much of an excuse to pour myself a glass of champagne before getting dressed. Itís a better reason than I had for all 49 other instalments, anyway. Not that that stopped me.
