Tesco wine boss Dan Jago adds beer and spirits to role

11 September, 2014

Dan Jago has broadened his role as Tesco’s group wine director to incorporate beers and spirits.

Jago previously looked after Tesco’s entire UK BWS section but took on a new international wine role in December 2012, with Gavin Warburton taking on beer and spirits.

Warburton has now moved to head of dairy and Jago is back in charge of all BWS across Tesco’s international portfolio of stores.

He said: “I was delighted to be asked to look after the beers and spirits category in addition to wine. In his time leading the category, Gavin transformed the way we buy and how we sell.

“He created a brilliant customer proposition and I relish the opportunity to continue his momentum. I am also looking forward to working closely with our beer, cider and spirit suppliers once again and will try to speak with and meet as many as possible in the coming weeks.”
