Kopparberg unveils Spiced Apple variant

Kopparberg is launching a Spiced Apple variant in a bid to boost sales during the typically lean winter trading period.

It believes consumers are starting to “view cider as an all year round drink” and believes the cinnamon notes, woody aroma and “warming sweetness” of the new drink will capitalise on this.

The variant launches in October and in-store sampling will encourage consumers to taste the mulled serve – it can also be enjoyed over ice – at key retailers.

Kopparberg’s head of marketing Rob Calder said: “Kopparberg cider fans have frequently asked us for a winter variant and after a limited trial in 2013 we have decided to roll the variant out to a wider audience in 2014. We’ll be supporting the variant with PR and social media over the winter period.”

Kopparberg Spiced Apple has an abv of 4% is available in individual 50cl bottles retailing at £2.29, from Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and selected convenience stores throughout the UK.

Alongside Kopparberg Spiced Apple the range includes Cloudberry, Elderflower & Lime, Mixed Fruit, Pear, Strawberry & Lime, Naked Apple and Raspberry.
