Liberty signs up Peter Lehmann Wines and Hess

04 September, 2014

Liberty Wines has signed a deal with Hess Family Wine Estates to take over distribution of Peter Lehmann Wines from the Barossa Valley and the Hess Collection Winery from the Napa Valley.

The deal was a coup for managing director David Gleave MW, who has wanted to sell Peter Lehmann wines ever since he discovered the winery on his first visit to the Barossa in 1992.

He said: “It is a dream come true to add the Peter Lehmann wines to our portfolio and we intend to build on the premium position they hold in the UK market. We have long championed the quality, diversity and ‘sense of place’ offered by premium Australian wines, and believe that the Barossa and Eden Valley wines produced by Peter Lehmann are among the country’s greatest and most individual wines.”

“The Hess Collection wines from California offer the sort of value and regionality that we have been looking for from the USA. As a result, we are confident that they will be as successful as the rest of the Hess stable.”

Liberty already distributes Bodega Colomé, Amalaya and Glen Carlou, owned by Hess Family Wine Estates.
