Thirty gold medals awarded at International Beer Challenge 2014

29 July, 2014

Judges handed out 30 gold medals, 103 silvers and 170 bronzes at the International Beer Challenge 2014.

The panel of beer writers, bloggers, brewers and flavour analysts sampled 570 beers from such far flung places as Brazil, Egypt, Mongolia and Bury St Edmonds.

Each was blind tasted by the expert panel and a medal was awarded to the exceptional entries.

IBC chairman Jeff Evans will meet with captain judges in September to taste the gold medalists once more and decide on trophy winners in each category and name an overall supreme champion.

An awards ceremony will be held later that evening at Dartmouth House in London’s Mayfair to announce and present the winners.

Full coverage with the list of medal-winning beers, trophy winners and the supreme champion will be published in Off Licence News’ September 19 issue.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas
