08 May, 2014

Family-owned farm distillery Kilchoman will release a new edition of its 100% Islay barley-to-bottle whisky brand next Monday.

It will be the fourth edition of the single malt which is made from barley grown at and malted in the distillery,

The limited edition has been aged in 40 first-fill bourbon barrels and will be bottled on-site at 50% abv. The rrp is £64.99.

“The fourth edition represents a significant development in the maturity of our 100% Islay range,” said John MacLellan, distillery manager. “Its balance and complexity far surpassed our expectations.”

Kilchoman is run by the Wills family. It was founded in 2005 and was the first distillery to be built on Islay for 125 years.
