Moėt to sponsor Newmarket festival

Moėt & Chandon will be the title sponsor at Newmarket Racecourse’s three-day July festival.   

The Maison has a long tradition of supporting sporting events, having previously sponsored meetings at Epsom, Goodwood and Sandown, while tennis superstar Roger Federer is its brand ambassador.

Tens of thousands of visitors will don their finest dresses, suits and hats in a bid to win prizes in a “Fashion at the Festival” promotion – and a glass of sparkling Moėt will complete the look.

Amy Starkey, regional director at racecourse owner Jockey Club, said: “Their involvement will enhance the attraction of the highlight of the year on The July Course at Newmarket Racecourses – and we are delighted with the close historical link between the Maison and The Jockey Club.”

The Jockey Club was founded in 1750, the same year in which Claude Moėt exported the first bottle of Champagne to Britain.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
