Sussex’s Dark Star brewery and West Yorkshire’s Saltaire have released a 5.6% abv Bock, and plan to celebrate the Tour de France starting in Yorkshire in July with another brew.
The Bock is a rich dark brown beer with a malt aroma and toasty caramel flavour, with fruity hops and bitterness.
The brewers are now working on the beer to celebrate the Tour de France, and are planning a refreshing ale to drink after a long bike ride.
James Cuthbertson of Dark Star said: “We’ve worked with Saltaire for years and have great respect for what they’ve achieved in Yorkshire. We’re like-minded when it comes to producing quality beers and it just seemed natural to get together and combine our talents in this way.”
Ewen Gordon, Saltaire Brewery’s sales director, added: “This collaboration is a first for Saltaire, and not something we do lightly or are likely to do often, and the Dark Star team were our first choice.”
