William Grant announces off-trade WSET scholarship

20 January, 2014

William Grant & Sons has created a scholarship to give off-trade workers the chance to study spirits at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, in honour of former prestige retail manager Ian Murray.

Murray, who also ran an education and consultancy business called Spirited Solutions, died last year after a short illness.

He gives his name to a scholarship for the WSET’s level 1 and level 2 qualifications.

The Ian Murray Scholarship is open to off-licence workers aged 18 to 30. The distiller will shortlist 10 applicants, and the winner will be picked by Murray’s family.
