Boisset La Famille des Grands Vins, Les Vins Georges Duboeuf and co-operative Le Cellier des Saint-Etienne have joined forces to form BCD Développement.
The company aims to start buying up as many vineyards as it can as soon as possible.
Boisset and Duboeuf were already customers of the co-operative, which has 240 vintners. As part of the deal they have signed a five-year contract to continue buying grapes from Le Cellier des Saint-Etienne.
A spokeswoman said: “This union has a dual goal: to ensure the long-term future of producers and the co-operative cellar, and to guarantee the source of supply for negociants.”
BCD Développement will be managed by Gérard Large, who was president of the Cellier for 20 years.
