Reward offered to help find stolen Brewdog beers

03 January, 2014

A wholesaler who suffered the theft of 16,000 bottles of Brewdog beer from his warehouse in Essex has urged the trade to help him recover it.

Paul Kruzycki is offering retailers and pub owners a reward to help him recover the beers, which have a retail value of £40,000.

A criminal gang spent two hours raiding Ales by Mail in Billericay, Essex, in the early hours of Monday, December 30.

CCTV footage shows around 15 thieves breaking into the warehouse and loading the beers into a van.

They include prototypes Interstellar, Hobo Top and Brixton Porter, which are not on sale in the UK yet, along with recent release Moshi Moshi.

Paul Kruzycki, founder and managing director of Ales By Mail, said: “It will be obvious to any business offered these Brewdog beers that they were stolen from us. They are niche craft beers and can only be ordered through the Brewdog website.

“I’d appeal to any business approached to contact us or their local police immediately. As well as the blow to the business, the thieves also took personal items belonging to staff, and have caused a great deal of distress. We’re offering a reward for information which enables us to recover the beer and identify the thieves.”

What makes wine special

Reaching the 50th instalment of Hemming’s Way is hardly the biggest milestone, but I don’t need much of an excuse to pour myself a glass of champagne before getting dressed. It’s a better reason than I had for all 49 other instalments, anyway. Not that that stopped me.
