Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined to contribute towards a record week of online wine sales at Tesco.

The world’s largest wine retailer’s Wine by the Case site saw increased sales of 29% compared to the same promotional period last year.

Meanwhile sales of wine through Tesco’s grocery site rose 51% on 2012.

The retailer said last week was particularly successful for Champagne and sparkling wine sales, which accounted for 25% of total category’s online sales.
