Greene King launches off-trade competition

Greene King is offering shoppers the chance to win a day of indulgence worth £5,000 with an on-pack promotion on Abbot Ale.

Consumers are invited to submit their details on a dedicated web page and explain how they would spend the money to make their Sunday perfect.

Marketing director Dom South said: “Sunday should be the perfect day for rest, relaxation and taking time out to enjoy a great quality beer, but we all know that life sometimes gets in the way.  So when you sit down to enjoy a pint this weekend, make sure it’s Abbot Ale and be in with a chance of winning your perfect Sunday.”

As well as the main prize, a year’s supply of the 5% abv Abbot Ale will be up for grabs each week in this off-trade exclusive competition.

Weekly prizes will be drawn every Sunday from 24 November until the beginning of March.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
