Rare whisky priced at £2,850 unveiled

13 November, 2013

Ian Macleod Distilers has released a limited-edition 35-year-old expression of Glengoyne single malt, priced at £2,850.

Only 500 of the crystal decanters are for sale across the globe, and they are individually numbered on their gold collars.

The whisky is presented in an oak lacquered gull wing box with a stitched leather interior and base, and the gift box also comes with a leather book which tells the story of the brand.

Director of malt whiskies Neil Boyd said: ďThe Glengoyne 35yo is an exceptionally rare whisky. Distilled in the 1970ís and 35 years in the making, this rich malt is golden in colour with tropical fruit intensity and a liquorice and dark chocolate finish. Itís truly outstanding and the beautifully designed packaging is in-keeping with the distinct, premium and stylish design of the enhanced Glengoyne brand collection, launched last year.Ē
