Waitrose showcases Turkish wine

02 September, 2013

Turkish wine is the unusual star of the Waitrose Wine Showcase running in shops and online from September 2 to October 8.

Buyers have sourced a wine from the Pamukkale winery which blends Shiraz and Merlot with indigenous grapes Kalecik Karasi and Boğazkere. The family-run winery was founded in 1962 in the small town of Güney, in south-western Turkey.

Pamukkale Diamond, which will retail at £7.99 – 20% off its rrp of £9.99 – is one of 60 wines from some 14 countries around the world featuring in the showcase.

Other special parcels include Homelands Pinot Grigio from South Africa, £5.99 with 25% off, Pecorino Terre die Chieti IGP from Italy, £6.49 with 25% off and Skouras Cabernet Sauvignon/Aghiorghitiko from Greece, £7.49 with 25% off.
