Tesco secures exclusive listing of Jamie's Italian wines

29 July, 2013

Tesco has secured an exclusive listing of three new wines from celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s restaurant group.

The wines have been on sale at the 35 Jamie’s Italian restaurants since October 2012 but they are making their off-trade debut in 500 Tesco stores nationwide today.

Jamie’s Italian Bianco 2012, Jamie’s Italian Rosato 2012 and Jamie’s Italian Rosso 2012 are all available in 75cl bottles retailing at £7.99.

The wines are supplied to Jamie’s Italian by Enotria and  the new Tesco listing represents the first time Britain’s largest retailer has collaborated with a supplier to make a bespoke on-trade wine available in the off trade.

Davy Zyw, product development manager for Tesco’s Italian wine category, said: “The Bianco, Rosato and Rosso have been created to be enjoyed with food, they are deliciously versatile and very easy to enjoy. We are excited to be able to help recreate restaurant experiences in our customer’s homes.”

Earlier in the year, Jamie’s Italian Prosecco NV was added to the Tesco wine range, and Zyw said he is delighted to bolster the range with a red, white and rosé.
