Staff at FE Barber’s Kingsland and Legacy Wines divisions set out to raise £30,000 on the nine-day expedition after a colleague’s daughter died from a tumour.
But friends, family and colleagues of the 12 employees were joined by people from across the industry in digging deep for the cause, and they have now raised £38,000.
They are determined to break the £40,000 barrier as donations continue to flood in.
Managing director Andy Sagar, who took part in the trek, said: “It has been an unforgettable week and an experience each and every one of us who took part will never forget.
"We have met some amazing people, learnt so much, and seen some breathtaking sights. We are so lucky to have experienced something so extraordinary, and would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to sponsor us.
"The accomplishment feels even better knowing that we exceeded our target and helped contribute towards the fantastic work that continues to go on at the Brain Tumour Research.”
