Iron Maiden secures major national listing for beer

03 June, 2013

Iron Maidenís Trooper ale has secured its first major listing with a national retailer and is now being sold at more than 450 Morrisons stores nationwide.

The 4.7% abv ale was created by lead singer Bruce Dickinson, a beer fanatic, and brewed by Robinsons in Cheshire.

It launched on May 9 and Robinsons had to brew three times a day, six days a week for the first time in its 175-year history to meet pre-orders in excess of 300,000 pints.

The brewer has secured orders from Canada, Sweden, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Holland, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovenia, Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, Spain, South Africa, Taiwan and the USA.

But a listing at one of Britainís big four supermarkets is the biggest coup yet.

Welcoming the wine rookie

Itís all true. Wine writers loaf around in a state of partial inebriation and partial undress, bitching about having to taste free wine all day and using recondite words like malolactic, terroir and recondite.†
