Sharp's launches new Connoisseur's Choice beers

20 February, 2013

Sharp’s brewery is rolling out the first of its Connoisseur’s Choice beers of the year – a range designed to partner food.

Its Spiced Red, which has an abv of 9%, joins Single Brew Reserve – abv 4.5% – in the new premium range of bottled beers.

Connoisseur’s Choice is designed to show off the brewery’s best ingredients and the skills of head brewer Stuart Howe.

He said: “The Connoisseur’s Choice range is designed to show the drinker the breadth of flavours and sensations available from beer. They are packed with enticing flavour, a partner to good food and something to savour.

“Spiced Red is a big, warming brew, with a long dry finish. Single Brew Reserve 2012 has a mild bitterness which makes it a very refreshing selection ahead of a sumptuous meal or in between courses.”

The Connoisseur’s Choice range received a number of honours last year, including International Beer Challenge gold and silver medals for Quadrupel Ale 2011 and Honey Spiced Tripel 2011 respectively.
