Virgin Wines announces record sales

19 December, 2012

Virgin Wines said it achieved record sales of £2.16 million in the past seven days as thirsty customers snapped up 31,500 cases ahead of Christmas.

The record-breaking sales were partially attributed to the online retailer’s “advent calendar”.

The initiative offered drinkers one-off deals each day. On Tuesday a half price case of Beneficio – one of the company’s highest-ever customer rated wines – achieved sales of almost 1,400 cases.

Managing director Jay Wright said: “We are delighted to announce record sales levels at Virgin Wines, particularly at a time where many consumers have to carefully consider each and every purchase that they make.

“We can only hope that offering unrivalled levels of service, exceptional value and delicious wines has gone a long way to encouraging wine lovers to buy from Virgin Wines.”
