Tesco appoints new wine buying manager

Tesco has appointed Alain Guilpain to be its new buying manager for wine, OLN has learned.
The Frenchman joins from the grocer's Czech operation having been the Prague-based non-food trading director since November last year.
He was senior buying manager for the dairy department from 2004 - 2006, before being promoted to the position of category manager.
Dan Jago, Tesco's category manager for BWS, told OLN that while Guilpain did not have wine experience his previous commercials roles made him the ideal candidate to oversee the category.
Guilpain replaces Claire Lorains, who was handed an internal promotion to head up Tesco's healthcare department following two years at the wine helm.
