Chance to win buying trip to Chile

05 July, 2012

Retailers can win a buying trip to Chile as part of a new promotion designed to promote Chilean wines in the UK.

The Wines of Chile Independent Wine Merchant Awards is exclusive to independent wine merchants that have between one and ten retail outlets, with or without an online sales operation.

You must agree to run a Chilean wine promotion for at least one month during August and September 2012 and submit along with your application your Chilean list to Wines of Chile UK.

You will then go into a prize draw and five retailers will win a buying trip to Chile during January 2013 as well as a cash prize of £500.

A further 10 runners-up will win a  £500 cash prize.

Michael Cox, Europe director at Wines of Chile, said: “The UK Independent sector is proving to be very fertile ground for Chilean wines as its market share by value grows to over 9%.

“What is particularly encouraging is the increases Chile is making in the £6 to £10 retail price sector – sales are an average of 45% more than a year ago.

“A growing number of independent wine merchants are discovering that the diversity of style and exceptional value for money that Chile offers is finding favour with discerning wine drinkers.”

You can register for the competition on  01344 872229 or at info@winesofchile.org.uk

The closing date for registration is Friday, July 30.
