Competition seeks inspirational women in drinks retail

08 May, 2012

Specsavers is looking for women in drinks retailing to enter its Everywoman in Retail awards.

The competition aims to recognise the achievements of women in retail by highlighting inspirational female role models.

All the winners will be given a 90-minute professional coaching session by training and development experts Penna.

Everywoman co-founder Maxine Benson said: “Given that women are estimated to be responsible for around 70% of household purchasing decisions, clearly it is essential that the management of retail companies reflects the demographic of their customer base. The economic climate means retailers need to think intelligently to remain globally competitive. Those companies that nurture and progress their female talent will be those most likely to reap success.”

The deadline for entries is May 14.

Then there’s the evergreen classic 74 times 12, giving not just two but three fat ladies, 888.
