Pernod Ricard UK's Lee James promoted

Pernod Ricard UK’s channel director for wine Lee James has been promoted within the group to international brand development manager for premium wine brands EMEA.

In his new role James will be responsible for the development of the Pernod Ricard wine portfolio across Europe, the Middle East and Africa in conjunction with local distributors.

Pernod Ricard UK deputy managing director Simon Thomas said: “I am delighted to announce this move for Lee, which is thoroughly deserved following over seven successful years within the group in a variety of commercial roles.  

“Lee’s move to premium wine brands will add to the UK market wine expertise within the brand owner and therefore further support Pernod Ricard’s aim to drive value sales growth in UK wine by capitalising on the existing trends of premium wine.”

Thomas will assume day-to-day responsibility for the commercial wine team until a replacement for James is announced.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
