Golf partnership for Warsteiner

22 March, 2012

Warsteiner German lager is to be supported by print advertising as part of a marketing push that sees it become the official beer supplier to the European golf tour.

A neck-collar competition will appear on bottles of the brand from this month, with competition prizes of VIP trips to the tour’s BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in Surrey from May 24-27.

Marc Büker, director of sales and marketing for Warsteiner International, said the brand was looking to build on its presence in the UK of more than 30 years by ramping up its sales effort.

“There is already some awareness of our brand among discerning beer drinkers,” he added. “We see the UK as a key growth market and we are investing in driving further distribution and solid marketing support.”

A four-pack of 50cl cans will join the packaged range, which comprises 66cl and 50cl bottles and a three-pack of 33cl bottles.
