Beale to be new WSTA head

20 March, 2012

Miles Beale will join the Wine & Spirit Trade Association as its new chief executive in June.

Beale is currently deputy director for EU and international agriculture policy at DEFRA and has also worked in the Cabinet Office and the Department for Communities & Local Government.

Chairman Tim How said: “He brings with him extensive experience across government, which will help the industry navigate a broad range of policy issues impacting the sector at both UK and EU level.”

Beale will be a permanent replacement for Jeremy Beadles who left the WSTA in January to become corporate relations director at Heineken.

Gavin Partington continues as interim chief executive until Beale’s arrival.
