Carling updates iPint app

Molson Coors has launched a new version of its Carling iPint app, which lets users pretend to drink beer through their smartphones.

The updated version, ready for download now, includes a mobile voucher offering shoppers £1 off a four-pack of Carling.

The voucher will be available to more than 1 million customers through the app, which also directs consumers to their nearest shop.

Digital marketing manager Andy Henwood said: “In revamping iPint, we wanted to celebrate the success of the original app and reward those who had downloaded it in an innovative and mobile way, with some great offers from Carling. The scannable barcode features groundbreaking technology and will help Carling drinkers redeem their vouchers while on the move, while also driving footfall to retailers across the country.”

The original app has had more than 2 million downloads in the UK since it launched in July 2008 and was in the top 100 downloaded apps for two years.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
