First Drinks takes on Zubrowka and Green Mark

30 January, 2012

First Drinks has added Zubrówka Bison Grass Vodka and top Russian vodka brand Green Mark to its portfolio, after parting company with Russian Standard.

Both brands are owned by Poland’s Central European Distribution Corporation.

Managing director Chris Mason said: “We are delighted to be working with CEDC, one of the world’s leading vodka producers, and we look forward to a long-term partnership to achieve our ambitious mutual goals.

“The new vodkas are an excellent fit within our existing portfolio, complementing our current brands. We have a strong track record of building premium brands and have big ambitions for 2012 to be in the position to offer our customers the most desired portfolio of authentic vodka brands of any UK distributor.

“As industry leaders in the UK premium spirits market, our strategy is to build on our reputation as premium brand builders and have a full range of authentic vodkas relevant to both the on and off-trade.”

CEDC’s ultra-premium Kauffman – the first vintage vodka in the world – will also join the portfolio.

Zubrówka will continue to be distributed by Marblehead Brand Development, which has handled it for 13 years, until July 1.

Business development director Dave Steward said: “Marblehead is entering a new phase of development. We have a strategic partnership with Proximo in the UK working on the fast-growing brand Kraken Spiced Rum, and are developing a portfolio of wholly-owned brands including Davna Czeri Vodka and Skipper Rum.  We wish Zubrówka and CEDC all the best for the future.”
